Bob Fitch entered the gaming industry by joining Silicon & Synapse in 1992 before he was even out of college. He graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Cal State Fullerton. His first project was Rock n' Roll Racing which released in 1993. His second major project was to write a new game engine that was ultimately used to build WarCraft: Orcs & Humans. After that he contributed to almost every title Blizzard Entertainment released in some way or another. Most recently he is the Technical Director for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft and sits on Blizzard's Engineering Council.

His specialties include "large data" and algorithms, AI programming, compilers, and most notably game balance. He designed & engineered the AI for all their RTS games up through Starcraft II, and the original World of Warcraft combat game mechanics and spell balance.
